How Can Apply Contact Cleaner?

Contact cleaner removes dirt, oil, grease, metallic oxides caused by corrosion and moisture from the surface of small pieces of electronic equipment, ignition systems, motors, electronic controls, relays, thermostats and other areas where you need the product to evaporate quickly and leave no residue. The following steps will show you how to use contact cleaner to clean these various surfaces.

Step 1
Put on gloves and protective eyewear such as goggles before spraying the product. Ventilate the area well to avoid breathing in too much of the vapor from the spray can.

Step 2
Shake the contact cleaner spray can well.

Step 3
Turn off all electric equipment or machinery before spraying.

Step 4
Test a small area that is inconspicuous before spraying the whole area to make sure the cleaner is compatible with the surface you are cleaning.

Step 5
Hold the can at least 6 to 8 inches from the surface you are spraying and keep the can upright during use.

Step 6
Allow the product to dry and then wipe it with a lint-free cloth or brush it clean.

Step 7
Make sure the surface is completely dry before turning the machinery back on.
